The Minister-President of the Brussels Region, Rudi Vervoort, has announced that, in order to limit the spread of the Covid-19 virus in the Brussels Region, all cultural sites will be closed as of Monday 26 October until new health provisions authorise their reopening. We would therefore like to inform our visitors that the Royal Museum of the Army and Military History will be closed from this Tuesday 27 October onwards (since Monday is our usual closing day).

On Thursday 12 March the National Security Council and the federal government took additional measures in an effort to curb the corona virus pandemic (COVID-19) in our country. Among other measures, and as a sanitary precaution, gatherings in confined spaces are forbidden and “social distance” is recommended.

The documentation centre will be closed from Monday 21 December 2020 until Tuesday 5 January 2021.

As of 8 December 2020 the reading room is accessible to all members of the public.

Consultation is subjected to strict conditions in order to safeguard general health.

CEDOC is still operating with a reduced number of staff members on site and the number of seats in the reading room is limited in order to guarantee social distancing. Visitors are therefore required to book in due time. Two full business days have to separate the reservation and the consultation (e.g. reservation on Monday evening at the very latest for a visit on Thursday). There will be no exceptions to this...

As of 24 June 2020 students and PhD candidates requiring access to archives in the framework of their scientific activities are once again welcome in the documentation centre reading room upon appointment and provided they wear a face mask. Students are required to present their student ID and PhD candidates have to supply credentials establishing they are linked to a fund for scientific research, a university or a scientific institution.

As of 1 July 2020 the reading room is accessible to all members of the public.
